WORK OF RESTORATION THE ROCKEFELLER GIFT (Rec. June 10, 10.55 p.m.) London June 10. The “Morning Post’s”, Paris correspondent states that the Frajico-Amen-can Committee administering the Rockefeller gift has decided, to utilise seven million francs, 1 one-third of the gift inimediately. A million francs will be devested to repairing the root and angel tower of Rheims Cathedral, re-establishing the superstructure to its state before the bombardment. Reinforced concrete will be used, in order to avoid the danger of fire. Two million francs will be expended at lontainebleau, four millions at Versailles. The gift at the present exchange rate represents between nineteen and twenty million francs. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. I'Mr J. D. Rockefeller, jun., gave a million dollars to reconstruct the palaces at Versailles and Fountainesbleau, and the cathedral at Rheims.j
