Even the inoffensive perambulator is in danger of being classed as a dangerous vehicle to pedestrians and others, and fitted out with head and tail lights, failing the provision of which a deputy policeman is likely to pop out from a dark corner and arrest tho occupant of the perambulator, on a charge of a. by-law breach. At the farmers’ interprovincial conference at Feilding (reports tho “Manawatu Daily Times”), Mr. H. Schrieber for the Rangiotu branch, moved: “That it he compulsory for all vehicles, especially bicycles, to carry head and tail lights after sunset.” The scheme was supported by Air. H. A. Nevens, of Mahari, ,w,ho was of .the opinion that ail roadmen .should\-lie asked to act as policemen in reporting any vehicles passing along country roads Unlighted. Mr. A. McLeavey remarked“ What about perambulators?” The remit was dropped.
