STORM IN ENGLAND

DAMAGE FROM FLOOD (BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS association.) I.OPI'ttIGUT. London, June 2. Tropical downpours continue in many districts in the south and west of England. The rainfall for one day was equal to the average rainfall for a fortnight. Serious destruction is reported in the Severn and Wye Valleys, where many villages are isolated by the smaller bridges being carried away. There i s much damage in Staffordshire and Cheshire. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
