* — BY TELEGUAPH.—PRF.SS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, May 10. Gwitha King, aged 20, was found in a bathroom of her homo in Hereford Street yesterday in strange circumstances. She had apparently jumped into tlie bn th. tied a rope round her legs, turned on the water, and then lacerated luer throat. fortunately, her head remained above water, or she would have been drowned, as she was missing for two hours prior to being found. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, and is progressing favourably. It is understood that she had had a nervous breakdown.
