A Chinaman named Chong Foon,armed with an axe in one hand and a chopper in the other, ran amok at Innisfail and murderously attacked three other Chinamen in a shop in Chinatown. Two of the victims were fearfully injured, and are not excepted to recover. When Foon ran amok the police were informed, a.nd two detectives dashed to the shop, which was like a shambles. with an excited crowd of several hundred people watching outside. Foon attacked the police, displaying maniacal strength. There was a desperate straggle, in which one of the detectives was -wounded on the arm with the chopper before the Chinaman was overpowered.—Press Assn.
