SPLENDID TRIAL AVALK BY MACMASTER.
Cape Town, May 9. The Olympic walker, Mac Master, prior to sailing to-day for Paris, in a trial walk covered 10,000 metros in 45 minutes 4| seconds, beating the 1912 Olympic record. He reached the halfway mark in 224 minutes. Mac Master actually walked'twenty yards over tho distance specified. —Renter. [At Stockholm, in 1912, at tho Olympic Games, H. G. Goulding (Canada) did tho 10,060 metres in 4Gmin. _ 28 2-osec. At the last Olympic gathering, held at Antwerp in 1920, P. Frigerio (Italy) took 48min. 6 l-ssec. to walk the distance.]
