MACDONALD ANNOYED Tho Russian delegates to the conference with Britain are draggng out the negotiations, causing serious annoyance to Mr. MacDonald, who may present tho delegation with a demand having the character of an ultimatum. Much speculation has arisen lately concerning the progress of the AngloSoviet Conference in London. ins “Daily Telegraph’s” political observer says there is reason to believe that Mr. MacDonald has reached .a point which he questions the real intentions ot the-Soviet Government. . There is now no doubt m the minds of those in the closest contact, with it that the Russian delegation is doin'? its utmost to drag out the negotiations, without precipitating a final rupture. Its reasons arc not cleai, but this is known, that the Moscow rulers have been of two minds about giving Mr. MacDonald tho satisfaction of a diplomatic success. Whateverthe cause, Mr. MacDonald is understood to be seriously annoyed, and if ho can overcome the resistance of a section of his followers he. may shortly present the delegation with a demand having the character of an ultimatum. —Aus.-N.Z.
