CONCERT FOR RED CROSS BENEFIT FUND
The sacred concert given on the evening of Anzac Day at the Town Hall, which was one of the most impressive of its class in Wellington for many a day, is to be repeated at the Town frttll on Bunday evening for the benefit of tho widow'and children of Mr. W. Cress, the traffic inspector who lost his life whilst doing duty on race night on the Hutt Road. The programme is a splendid one. The Wellington Professional Orchestra, under Mr. Frank Crowther, will play several selections, including tho famous “Fingal’s Cave” overture by Mendelssohn, the “Finlandia” drama by Sibelius, and the “tratiinerei” b.v Schumann. The male choir of tho Wellington Commercial Travellers’ Club will sing a number of part songs, and solos will be contributed by Misses Myra Sawver, Eileen Noble, and Mr. Len Lnrncs. Tho accompaniments will be played Ly Miss Gladys Watkins, whilst tho organiser of the concert, Mr. Temple White, will preside at tho organ
