MOTOR BANDITS IN LONDON
■—* A THRILLING CHASE. London, May 7. People in the West End to-day were astonished io see a thrilling pursuit of motor bandits. Two men dismounted from a motor-ear m New Bond Street at 10 o’clock this morning, smashed a window in a jeweller’s shop with a hammer, and snatched a diamond neck lace valued at £BOOO. They reentered the car and drove towards Piccadilly. A policeman who saw tho theft, jumped into a taxi-cab and ptirsued tho robbers. He was joined by other police ami pedestrians,, and the robbers abandoned their car in a traffic block in Dover Street and escaped through the tube station.—Aus.-N.Z. Assn.
