NEW ZEALAND UNION EXECUTIVE MEETING A meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last night. Present: Messrs. S- S. Dean (chairman), E. Wylie, C. Mullany, T. A. Fletcher, A. C. ICitto, and W- Hornig. Mr. Kitto protested that the committee had gone against the resolution of the full committee in making the All Black Selection Committee seven instead of five, this being done when two members of the committee had been absent. Mr. Dean explained that the meeting had been held at 5 o’clock, this hour being unavoidable. The views of the two dissentients, however, had been .placed before the meeting. The Wellington Rowing Club asked for permission to announce tho final selection of tho All Black team at midnight on June 3, on the occasion of tho club’s annual ball. It was decided to accede to the request if possible. Nominations from unions of refeic's for interprovincial fixtures were received as follow: —Auckland, W. J. Meredith, G. C. Peace, F. E. Sutherland, C. F. Pauli; Nelson, G. Batchelor, E. A. Edwards, G. Logan, W. Treweek; Wairarapa, E. Freeman, H. McKenzie; Bush Union, M. Lawson end J. Hanary. Regarding the Rugby text book for schools the sub-committee appointed forwarded a report containing details of proposed contents, which will include articles on various aspects of the game from front rank forward to full-back, also treatises on rules and refereeing. The committee’s report was approved, and if was decided to circularise unions on the matter detailing the proposed contents of the book and soliciting contributions, the closing date for publication of matter being June 30. A letter was received from the Wellington Rugby Union covering a communication from the local Marist Club in connection with the trouble between the Christchurch Marist Club and the Canterbury liugby Union.. Action was deferred until next meeting. In connection with tho management of the Hawke’s Bay players going to Auckland it was decided to advise the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union that the suggestion of Jlr. N. McKenzie that Kirkpatrick, one of tho players, should be in charge was satisfactory to the union, and if Jlr. Tweedie, a member of the Hawke’s Bay Union, was sent, the latter’s expenses would have to be borne by Hawke’s Bay. The Auckland Union requested reconsidoi'atio.u of the resolution that reinstated Rugby players should not be considered for the English tour. It was iSScidcd to reply to the effect that no action could be taken as it was a resolution of the annual meeting of delegates, and referred only to this special tour. The Wellington Rugby Union wrote suggesting, that for the three trial matches in Wellington the charges should not exceed Is. to the ground and 2s. Cd. to the stand for the first mutch and Is. 6d. to the ground and Is. 6d. to tho stand for the remaining two matches, season ticket-nolders to have IS hours' priority in the reservations. It was decided to reply stating that the union had already fixed the charges (Is. Cd. and 35., and 2s. and Is., plus tax), tho season ticketdiolders at the park being given the privilege asked for. Tho New South Wales Union cabled, suggesting two delegates for each country at the imperial conference during the All Black tour, also stating that New South Wales representation was indefinite. The matter was deferred to next meeting to await replies from Jlr. Wray and South Africa. The Buller Union notified that? Jlr. R. Hansby had been appointed selector, vice Mr. Carmine, unable to act, for the combined Buller-West Coast team .for Wellington on Jfay 21. The Canterbury Rugby Union forwarder! for reinstatement the names of. J. H. Hosie, W. H. D. Geofrey. and J. Hetherington: Auckland, T. JfcTnnes, F. E. A. Reid, R. Nottingham, D. Conway, J. J. Saxon, G. A. Jonson, H, Lunn, J. A. T. McLean, J. H. Buslev. Buller-West Coast, R. 11. A. Wills. B. W. Baird, J. Boswell, K. Rooney, M. Jfessenger, G. Leitch ; Wellington, F- J. 'McComisky.
