The elderly man who was injured by a motor-car on Lambtoil Quay, near the Government Buildings, last Friday evening, and who died in the public hospital next morning, has been identified by- his relatives as Edwin Goodwin, a bootmaker, in business in Molesworth Street. The late Air. Goodwin was the son of Air and Mrs. E. Goodwin, some of Wellington's earliest settlers, who for a number of years were in business in Cuba Street. The deceased left a family of four—Air. E Goodwin, of Gisborne; Afrs. E. Mudgway, of Upper Hutt; and Air. James and Afiss Christina Goodwin. An inquest will be held to-niorrow afternoon.
