Motorists travelling along the Great South Road from Auckland during the last few days, have had their progress checked just outside Otahuhu (slates the “Herald”), bv a stout rope carrier across the read, and a large sign board bearing tin- inscription. “Mam Highways Board Traffic Tally, Kindly tell attendant where von are from, and where going.” The figures are required for the purposes of the board, and all wheel'd traffic, including motor-cars, lorries, traps, carts and bicycles, will be cheeked for a nermd of seven days, from six o’clock in tho morning until 10 p.m.
