Tlie hero of tho little drama, who was at tho time on his way north in his car and accompanied by a lady passenger, took the situation in at a glafica, and becoming inspired with the spirit of the chase, he alighted from his car, brandishing a weapon (which, fortunately happened to be in his car), not unknown to th'e Scots of old, and joined in the chase. By tho time trie pursuit bad gone the length of a couple of blocks, it looked as though tho intended victim would escape, but a splendid sprint on the part of the auctioneer brought him within easy striking distance, and with a, well-directed blow of his axe, the rodent’s career was ended.
