NATIONAL STRIKE CONSIDERED INEVITABLE. (Rec. May 7, 7.25 p.m.) London, May 7. The "Daily Herald” says that a national strike, affecting half a million building trade workers, appears to be inevitable. The operatives rejected the employers’ offer of a halfpenny an hour instead of the twopence demanded, and voted for a strike, tho date of which was fixed, hut has not been disclosed.---Aus.-N Z.
