THEATRE MANAGER FINED. Under the Kineniatograph Film Censor Act, 1916, Herbert Frederick AVood. manager of the King’s Theatre, was prosecuted in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday for exhibiting a film entitled “Grand Historical. Pageant, Held at Newtown Park,” which film, it was alleged, had not been approved by the censor. After hearing the evidence and the submissions of Mr. J. A. Scott, who represented defendant, the Magistrate (Mr. E. Page, S.M.) held that although there was nothing at all objectionable about the film, a breach of the law had been committed. The law had to be observed, and defendant would bo fined £5 and costs.
