ANNUAL MEETINGS PARISH OF ST. MARK’S There was a good attendance of parishioners at the annual meeting of St. Mark’s Church last night, the vicar (llev. H. E. K. Fry) presidThe chairman spoke at some length on his short experience of the parish and appreciation of the kindness extended to him during his term of office. He referred with regret to the deaths of prominent members or the church, those present standing in honour of their memory. The annual report showed that the revenues of the parish had been well maintained, the general off er tones reached £775, and the special offertories showed .in increase of £7l over the preceding year, a proof of the value of the envelope system. The outstanding event of the year was the arrival of the new vicar and Mrs. Fry, who had already endeared themselves to the parishioners by the earnest and zealous manner they had thrown themselves into every effort for the welfare of the parish. There had been a decided increase in the attendances at the Sunday services, especially of young people. The number of children had greatly increased at the Sunday School, the Bible class continued to increase, and Mrs. Fry had successfully formed a girls’ Bible class. The annual sale of work gave a net return of £246 17s. 7d. For foreign missions £369 had. been raised, and a branch. of tho Churchman’s Missionary League had been formed. V le churchwardens concluded by thanking the parishioners for much kindness, assistance, and hearty co-operation. The receipts for the year totalled £1926 6s. 5d., the expenditure being £1764 Ils. 10d., leaving a balance of £l6l 14s. 7d. Tlie surplus of assets over liabilities totalled £2573 13s. Bd. After dealing at length with the items in the balance-sheet, Mr. A. r. Williamson dwelt on the necessity for maintaining the position the finances of the parish occupied, and proving the real interest they felt in the welfare of the church. He moved the adoption of tire report and balancesheet. which was seconded by Mr. G. W. Barltrop and carried. ■ Mr. 11. L. Button was reappointed vicar’s churchwarden, and Mr. A. P. Williamson parishioners’ churchwarden. The following officers were elected:— Auditors, Messrs. IV. Haworth and G. M. Morgan; church school committee, Rev. H. E. K. Fry, Messrs. A. P. Williamson, W. J. Gaudin, G. W. Barltrop, A. J. S. White; vestry, Dr Gordon Kemp, Messrs. R. E. TUwnsley, W. J. Gaudin, W. H. Madeley, R. A. Hamerten, M. Browman, W. S.' Corder;, G. Des Landes, Lon McKenzie. ~ On the motion of Mr. Gaudin, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the officers and those who had worked on the church organisations during the year, and he ascribed their success mainly. to the example set by the vicar. Mr. IL L. Button, in returning thanks for his reappointment as churchwarden, referred in high terms to the success of the envelope system of collection, and the advisability of extending it as much as possible. ST. PETER’S. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Willis Street, was held on Monday. The vicar, the Rev. H. Watson, presided. The statement of accounts shewed a surplus at the end of the twelve months. Reference was made to the valuable services rendered by the treasurers of the freewill offering fund. <l As to St. Peter’s ladies’ working party, stated the report, “once again the wholehearted thanks of the parishioners are due to this energetic and hardworking body of workers, who this year have donated no less a sum than £135 towards the general expenses of the parish. Their generosity is of the greatest value to the church officers in their efforts to keep the financial side of the church in a satisfactory condition. The Rev. T. Fieldon Taylor continues his successful work v-ith tho Taranaki Street Mission. Mr. Taylor’s assistant, Mr. 11. S. Kenney, recently resigned to enable him to go to St. John’s College, Auckland, in connection with his theological studies, and his place has been filled by the appointment of Mr. E. McLevie. The amount at present on hand in connection with the Endowment Fund is £2lBB, tho bulk of which is invested in suitable securities. Owing to removals from the parish, it is intended to institute a canvass at an early date for new subscribers to the freewill offering ft nd.” The vicar briefly outlined the work of the year, and on his motion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all church workers. An address on the Taranaki Street Mission was delivered by the Rev. T. Fieldon Taylor, and instances were related of the class of social service work done—valuable work in relieving distress, recognised fax - beyond tie bounds of the city. Officers fop the year were elected as follow:—Vicar’s warden, Mr. AV. E. Bethune; people’s warden, Mr. ]). W. Anderson; vestry, Messrs. F. I’i?.mer, G. Lawrence, S. A. Longuet, A. G. Ballinger, R. Wilberfoss, J. L. Barnicoat, Jarman, G. AV. Robinson, A. Richards, and Colonel Murray Gard’ner. Messrs. A. Hollis and TV. G. Faulknor were reappointed auditors. The annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Michael’s and All Angels is to be held to-night in the schoolroom, Upland Road, Kelburn ST. ALBANS. At the annual general meeting of parishioners of St. Albans Church the balance-sheet showed a credit of £l3 10s. 4d., and assets amounting to £3360 6s. 3d., which includes church furniture, fittings, organa, and buildings of-various kinds. Tho liabilities amounted t-o £1 2s. lid., leaving a substantial balance in favour of assets. The balance-sheet was adopted after favourable comment by several prominent church members. Tho election of officers resulted as follows—Vicar’s churchwarden. Mr. F. Chittoy: people’s churchwarden. Mr. I). H. Lewis: vestry, Mrs. F. IT. Mather, Mrs. E. Puff, Messrs. E. A. Dawson, N. V. Judd, F. Andrew, E. Shortt, Rowe, Richards, Gilbert, and I. Manley; auditor, Mr. 11. N. Morrison.

ST. BARNABAS’, ROSENEATH. The tenth annual meeting; of parishioners of St. Barnabas’ Church was held in the Resencath Schoolroom last evening. The vicar (Archdeacon Innes Jones) presided. The vestry, in submittinc; their annual report, recorded with regret the destruction of St. Barna.bas’ Church by lire in January. The calamity had temporarily deprived them of the use of a building hallowed bv cherished memories of the past 10 years. 'Hie treasured memorials had been destroyed or marred beyond reclaim. The vestry took steps immediately to carry ent the resolution of parishioners that the best should be done to resteia the old building. A contract had been entered into, the price being £1154, the v.ork to be completed within three norths, and it is hoped to sec tlx structure ready for consecration in July. Mr. T>. Kerr was elected vicar’s churchwarden, Air. J. Scott parish warden, and the following were elected vcctrvmen : Messrs. Burton, Chaplin, Clayton, Cox, Barrett, and Eggletou.
