Australian or New Zealand wood suitable for the manufacture of paper, an announcement of the United States forest product laboratories, from Afadison, Wisconsin, of the discovery that excellent and valuable paper pulp can be made from the milanthus tree is significant. Half a cord of milanthus wood was developed into high-grade book paper, also fit for use in the manufacture of lithographic and fine writing papers. The milanthus used was originally 'Drought from China into Pennsylvania and New York, whore it is rapidly becoming a weed and a menace, as in New Zealand.
