The Government has issued a White Paper specifying its position regarding the yarious resolutions at Imperial Economic Conference, showing that, it endorses most of them, and is giving effect thereto by administrative measures and the introduction of legislation. It hopes at an early date to introduce legislation for the reorganisation of the Imperial Institute. A Bill is being prepared to give effect to the recommendation regarding the promotion of inter-imperial trade in pedigree stock. The Government will continue to give effect by administrative action to the policy of oversea settlement embodied in the Empire Settlement Act. It will take the opportunity of stating in Parliament its views on the resolution regarding Imperial preference in public contracts. The necessary instructions ore being prepared regarding the placing at the disposal of the Dominion and colonial Governments of the services of His Majesty’s commercial and diplomatic officers, and the Government will gladly take advantage of the Dominions offer regarding the services of their oversea Trade Commissioners. A revised scheme of Imperial trade statistics is being prepared for submission to the other Governments concerned. The Government is preparing a scheme of mutual interchange of aeronautical information, and will take steps to keep the other Governments fully informed of developments regarding airship services. The Government is inviting the colonies and protectorates io adopt a scheme whereby patents granted in Britain should extend to the colonies and protectorates on registration. The Government is reserving any expression of its views on tariff preference, shipping taxation, ana the immunity of State enterprises pending the Budget discussions in Parliament.
