TO UNITE COLOURED RACES
MOVEMENT JOINED BY INDIAN SWARAJISTS (Rec. April 24, 5-5 p.m.) Shanghai, April 23. The pan-Asiatic movement to unite coloured races Has been joined by the Indian Swarajists, who are conducting an anti-British campaign in China. The Chinese intellectuals have already promised support, while Koreans and the Japanese radicals are avowedly sympathetic. . In tho meantime, Sir Rabindranath Tagore, lecturing at Shanghai, attacked AVestern civilisation as materialistic, saying: “Westerners only seek power, destroying everything good, while obtaining political control. Sir Rabindranath Tagore has been enthusiastically received by the Chinese university students, who are impressed by his venerable appearance and impressiveness. The British Press is markedly antagonistic, but tho Chinese Press is friendly.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
