POST & TELEGRAPH
QUARTERLY RETURN OF REVENUE TOTAL REVENUE FOR QUARTER, £690,410. The return of postal and telegraph revenue for the quarter ended March 31 last shows an increase of approximately £46,366 over the corresponding period last year. The total postal revenue amounted to £328,527. as against £374,724 for the first quarter last year, the decrease of £46,000 odd being probably due largely to the reversion to penny postage. On the other hand, the total telegraph revenue shows an increase of approximately £94,000. sufficient to bring the total 'of the two departments substantially ahead of the figures of last yearOf the four centres, Wellington collected the most postal revenue, and Dunedin tho most telegraph revenue.
