SCOTS COLLEGE BOYS’ EFFORT.

The bovs Of Scots College held a very successful carnival and fete at the college yesterday afternoon, when there wa. a .rooH attendance and a splendid resno use to the hard work put m by the tov The aim of the fete was to raise tl?e sum of £lOO in order to build a snail room and wireless club, and so great was the success of the stalls, competi'dons, games, and ® boobu , g . ih-it bv 6 p.m. it was known that £llO had been raised, Tho attendance consisted principally of Pa re " ls of and their friends, and old boys of th© college, and during the afternoon these were well catered for with refreshments. In the evening a concert was held, in which the bovs excelled themselves, and each item was encored by the delighted audience. Items were given by Mr. Marks (song), J. Bagnall (cornet solos), G. Nash and E. Mackay (violin solos), and a musical monologue by Miss Ros and J. McCloud. All these were exceptionally fine, and were very greatly appreciated. The girls of Queen Margaret College were present at the concert, and participated in an impromptu dance, which was held after the concert. It i s expected that the net proceeds of the combined carnival, fete, con. cert and danco will touch the £125 mark.

Au Incident which added greatly to the success of tho evening was a message from Lord Jellicoe asking the College Cadets to form the guard of honour to Admiral Field when he arrives to-day.
