TIMBER IMPORTS
HARDWOOD POLES SWELL TOTAL. The heavy importations of hardwood poles for hydro-electric schemes, said the Chairman of tho Wellington Harbour Board, were largely responsible for the fact that timber imports for March, 1924, totalled 2,505,487 superficial foet, as against 833,813 superficial feet for March, 1923. Cargo generally showed a slight increase on March. 1923.
