RELIGIOUS ZEALOT DETAINED
CARRYING FIREARMS WITHOUT A PERMIT. Manila, April 20. Ira Sparks has been detained on a charge of carrying firearms without a permit, his effects including a gun and bayonet. When released he intends to continue his lonely voyage to Singapore.—Reuter. [lra Sparks, a religious zealot, sailed from Honolulu last winter in a twentyfoot boat. He was 75 days without righting land until he arrived at Davao Bay in the island of Mandanao, one of the Philippines.]
