A.J.C. AUTUMN MEETING SCARLET'S SYDNEY CUP (Rec. April 21, 10.20 p.m.) Sydney, April 21. The A.J.C. meeting was continued to-day in overcast weather. The weekend rain had affected the track only slightly. Though the rain held off throughout the day, the leaden sky and dull, depressing conditions were reflected in tho decreased attendance, there being not more than seventy thousand present. In the Sydney Cup Scarlet had hardly any friends, but she won with a bit in hand. Stony’s performance stamps him as one of the most honest performers seen at Randwick. Since being tested over distances he has invariably gained a place. Our Prince raced against luck, for notwithstanding that he was left at tho post he finished sixth. Accarak flattered his legion of admirers for a good part of tho journey, He was lying handy to the head of tho field, but vanished when the straight was reached. Drongo chased the place-getters home, his race being a surprise to manv, as Saturday’s performance m the St. Leger gave him little chance. Results:- —
