THE WORLD COURT

QUESTION OF AMERICAN PARTICIPATION Washington, April 18. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has appointed a sub-committee to hold bearings upon tho late President Harding’s proposal that the United States should participate in the World Court. This, constitutes the committee’s first action upon the subject since its submittal by. the late Mr. Harding. Owing to the outcome of the recent charges in the. Senate, the chairman, Senator Lodge, intended to bury the proiiosal because of partisan opposition to it. A similar charge in the House of Representatives elicited the intimation by a leading Republican that President Coolidge regards domestic issues as of more importance than foreign matters. —Aus.-N.Z.
