VITAL STATISTICS Hie total births registered during February for tho urban areas of New Zealand amounted to lift), as against 1102 in January. Tito deaths in February were 378. ft decrease of 59 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 203. females 175. Forty-five of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 11.90 per cent, of the whole number. Thirty-four of these were under one year of age.
