To-night in the Concert Chamber a pianoforte recital is to be given by Edwin Tanner, assisted by his brother Claude Tanner and Mr. Harold Whittle. The two brothers are leaving for London by the Remuera to further their musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Edwin Tanner "ill play the well-known "Moonlight Sonata,” a Chopin bracket, and Rubinstein’s Concerto in D Minor. The orchestral accompaniment to the latter is being played. on a second piano by Mr. Whittle. Claude Tanner will play the three movements of Goltermann’s Concerto in A Minor, recognised as one of the most difficult compositions for the ’cello, David Popper’s "Tarantelle,” and other numbers. Seats may be reserved at the Bristol. AMBASSADOR CABARET. The special "Sally” night at the Ambassador is attracting considerable intercst, and reservations are already heavy Mr. A. G. Frost‘and his band have’ prepared a special programme of carnival music, which will add to tho mirth and gaiety of the cabaret to-night. During the evening Miss Phyllis Bates and Mr. Arthur McNaughton will dance an exhibition fox trot. The Lynch Family of Bellringers concluded a very successful season at the Concert Chamber last night. The company will now go on a- country tour, performing at Upper Hutt to-night, Martinborough to-morrow night, Featherston on Saturday, while on Monday, at Carterton. they will give the opening performance in the new Tivoli Theatre. On Tuesday they will appear at Masterton. and from there thej- will proceed to Napier and Hastings.
