BILL OBSTRUCTED BY NATIONALISTS Delhi, Afareli 18. The Nationalist Party in tho Assembly refused consideration to the Finance Bill in protest against the Government’s failure to accept their recommendation to call a round-table conference with a view to granting further constitutional reforms. The party disregarded tho grave warning of Sir Alalcolm Hailey, the Home Member, that the British Government, belonging to whatever party, was bound to oppose, obstruction. Sir Alalcolm Hailey quoted Air. AfacDonald’s message to Indian extremists that the Labour. Party would not be coerced. He pointed out that the rejection of the Bill would make it impossible for the British Parliament to consider any measure of further advance. Tho Bill was rejected by 60 votes to 58. The Viceroy’s certification is expected before tho Bill goes to the Upper Chamber. —Reuter.
