EFFECT ON THE TEAM FOR ENGLAND A very brief reference to the amended kick-into-touch rule was made in the annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Union tabled at the meeting of the Management Committee last night. “The new rules, adopted with special permission from the English Rugby Union in 1922. were played throughout the Dominion in the season just closed, and have given general satisfaction,” said the report. “AVhether or not the change back from these rules to the rules obtaining in England will prove unsettling to" the team to tour England cannot be determined, but a special effort should be made to give the players selected an opportunity to practise, and, if possible, play a match under tho rules they have to adhere to while in England.” A remit from the AVellington Union that the English Rugby Union code bo reverted to was noted for discussion at the annual meeting of delegates.
