FIGHTING ON SYRIAN FRONTIER
FRENCH TROOPS FORCED TO RETREAT (Rec. March 18, 7.45 p.m.) Constantinople, March 17. An unconfirmed message transmitted from Adana reports serious conflicts between French troops and an armed band on tho Syrian frontier. After tho first engagement, the French were forced to retreat, leaving a hundred dead, besides a quantity of ammunition and some prisoners. 'The attackors pursued the French, whom they re-cnjxnped, nncL the result is unknown. —“The Times.”
