PLANS FOR WINTER SEASON. Heavy bookings for tho winter season at 3lount Cook are notified by the manager of tho Mount Cook motor service and lessee of tho Hermitage (Mr. R. L. Wrigley), who was in Wellington yesterday. Mr. Wrigley is visiting Wellington in regard to the installation of electricity at tho Hermitage for lighting and heating. He states that there was a large increase of visitors from the Dominion, Australia, and abroad during the summer season, and considers, from inquiries and bookings, that the winter season will be a record. Arrangements for tho winter include the cementing of the courtyard on the southern side of the Hermitage, for the purposes of ice skating and curling. Special provision is being made for dressing tho rink with hot” water, which provides a more even and harder surface than cold water. The rink will accommodate a large number of skaters. Large quantities of ski, toboggans, skates and other sporting equipment are coming to hand. It is the intention of tho management to hold carnivals once a month during the winter.
