CHAMBERS & SON’S ANNUAL PICNIC
The staff of John Chambers and Son, Ltd., held their annual picnic in ideal weather, at Maidstone Park, last Saturday. A very enjoyable day was spent, games, and a programme of athletic events fully occupying the day, at the close of which the prizes won were presented by the manager, Mr. W. F. Cuthbertson. In the athletic events L. J. Reyling won tho house championship and also the 120 yards handicap from scratch, conceding generous starts to some other well-performed athletes. Miss Gretta Cooney won the ladies’ championship. and figured prominently in tho rest of the programme. The close finishes and the number of dead heats reflected great credit on the handicapper, Mr. J. Wilton, and praise is also due to the picnic secretary, Mr. C. J. Davies, and his energetic committee for the way they worked to ensure the success of the day’s outing.
