As the rSsult of a combined effort by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce Ortd th© Carnival Week executive, visitors to the British Empire Exhibition will be afforded an adequate the scenic beauties of the City of ellington itself, its harbour, commerce, and surroundings. A tine series or large panoramic views has been collected. neatly framed in oak, and titled to give information to those unacquainted with New Zealand These are at present on view at McGregor s Gallery, Lambton Quay, and may be seen by anybody up till Tuesday next. Tile'views range from wide PW 10 * - amas from vantage points in the higher suburbs to “close-ups” of the beaches, with their crowds. Ihe harbour receives special attention, typical suburban homes of the gardened, well-laid-out kind,- are given prominence, and the city reserves and beauty spots are. well covered by the exhibit. The surrounding country is depicted, and a remarkable picture of a stag in the velvet stage of the _ antlers, surprised a few feet away in low scrub, will interest all stalkers. Some of the finest of the panoramas are devoted to the Hutt Valley.
