By sailing, auxiliary or steam, ship from Auckland to Niue and back to Auckland; not less than six trips each year. 2. By steamer from Auckland to Apia calling at Niue both ways; not less than eight trips each year. 3. (a) By steamer from Auckland to Apia calling at Niue both ways; provided that the Minister shall bo entitled to call upon the Contractor to extend the trip to Lyttelton and Dunedin via Wellington as required; not less than seven trips each year; and (b) From Auckland to Rarotonga and Lower Cook Islands (Aitutaki, Mauke, Atiu, Mangaia) and return to Wellington and Lyttelton; provided that the port of departure from and first port, of return to New Zealand may be varied as required by the Minister, to co-operate with the conditions under Clause (a); not less than six trips each year. 4. Contract for No. 1 service, if by sailing or auxiliary vessel to be for one year, otherwise for three years, and for Nos. 2 and 3 services for three years commencing April 1, 1924, and to be renewed for a further period of two years unless cancelled by written notification by either party before three months of the expiry of the three years. 5. Any steamer for Nos. 2 or 3 services is to have a capacity of aloout 1000 tons of general cargo measurement; to carry not less than 20 first-class passengers; to be fitted with wireless and to steam 11 knots. 6. Conditions of service may be seen at the'offices of the Superintendents of Marine, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, and of the Secretary, Cook Islands Department, Wellington. 7. Separate tenders, addressed to the Secretary, Cook Islands Department, Wellington,'and marked “Tender for Nos. 1, 2. or 3 Pacific Islands Services,” as the case may be. will be received up to and including FEBRUARY 16, 1924. 8.
