—4 ' GRATUITY FALLING DUE. Sydney, January 18. The gratuity bonds effered by Mr. W. M. Hughes (then Primp Minister) to soldiers on the eve of the 1919 elections will bo falling due in a few months, when the Commonwealth will be calfed upon to find £20.000,000. Financial quarters anticipate that the Government will experience dffiiculty in the matter, as the bulk of tho bonds were purchased by traders, who are holding them till the da to of maturity and are probably anxious to cash them at the earliest opportunity.—Press Assn.
