Applications are myjted for the position of ASSISTANT CHILI’ ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, in the Electrical Engineering Branch, of the VICTORIAN SI AIE RAILWAYS. The Assistant Chief Electrical Engineer must be capable of successfully dealing with engineering and operating matters in connection with the plant comprised in the Melbourne Suburban Railways electrified system, including Newport Power Generating Station (installed capacity 80,000 kilowatts, 20,000 volt underground and overhead transmission system, sub-station equipment, 1500 volt. overhead equipment, electric locomotive and multiple unit coach equipments,' and electric car repair shops. ' , Ho must also supervise erection and maintenance within electrified area .of railway electric power and lighting installations, and generally supervise such work throughout the State Railways. . The Assistant Chief Electrical Engineer will be expected to prepare, under the direction of the Chief Electrical Engineer, any proposals for alterations or additions to the existing electrified railways, including extensions to country centres During the absence of the Chief Electrical Engineer he will perform the duties of that position. , SALARY £lOOO per annum, to commence from date of appointment. Successful applicant must pass medical examination. Applicants must give 'name, age, place of birth, full particulars of engineering and administrative qualifications, and practical experience particularly in connection with electric railways.
