FOUR ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT MAGISTRATE REFUSES TO HAMPER POLICE Br Telegraph — Pcess Association. Dunedin, January 18. The four men alleged to be implicated in the Look Out case were before the Court this morning. Wiliam Williamson was charged with defrauding the Southland Racing Club of £153 by substituting Willie Lincoln for Look Out; and James Golding, William Percy, and Charles H. Capes were charged with conspiring with Williamson to defraud the club. The police stated that inquiries were still being made, and asked for a further remand for a week. This application was opposed by counsel, who stated that Williamson had been in gaol for some time, and had been brought before the Court several times, while the Capes' brothers had a business in Christchurch, with no one in charge of it. ' The Magistrate said he refused to hamper the police, and granted the remand. Williamson and Capes brothers were allowed bail of £2OO, with one surety of the same amount, and Golding was allowed bail on hig own recognisance of £lOO. each of the men to report daily to the police.
