CALIFORNIAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. (Rec. January 17, 9.40 p.m.) New York, January 16. A telegram from Los Angeles says that MacDonald Smith won the Californian open championship with 295 for seventy-two holes. Kirkwood, who won the title last year, was fifth, with 299.—Au5.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
