FIGHT TO FINISH
POLITICAL DIFFERENCES IN JAPAN ATTACK ON NEW MINISTRY (Rec. January 17, 8.5 p.m.) Tokio, January 16. Tho fate of tlie Kiyoura Ministry hangs upon a decision of the leaders of tiie Seiyukai Party, which was taken yesterday, when it was resolved to tight the Ministry to a finish and launch a motion of want, of confidence when the Diet resumes on January 20. Viscount Takahashi, a former Premier, in announcing this decision, said that the tendency to wipe 'out differences between the Throne and the Ministry meant dragging the Throne through the mire of politics with the possibility of a dangerous upheaval. The history of western lands was full of instances of political movements degenerating into .social agitation and thence into revolution. Japan had*got no fu *ther than political agitation, but the danger existed and would become worse unless the country was given political peace. He had resolved to resign from the peerage and contest a seat in the Lower House in order to fight for constitutionalism. When the want of confidence motion was presented, the Premier would probably prorogue Parliament until after the Royal wedding, and then dissolve it and appeal to the country.—Aus.' N.Z. Cable Assn.
