MANAWATU TOURNAMENT FINALS. By Telegraph—Press Association, Palmerston North, January 16. The tennis tournament was concluded to-day in fine but very cold weather. Andrews again mot Smyth (whom he defeated for the Taranaki championship) in the final of the champion singles, defeating him easily, &—l, 6—2. Peach and Goodman iNew South AVales) defeated Smyth md AVyburn, 6 —l, 6 —4, in the champion doubles. Miss McLaren won the ladies’ champion singles from Misa AVeilwood, 6 —l, &-2. Airs. Melody and Miss AlcLaren won the ladies’ doubles, defeating Misses Wellwood and Fannin, 6 —2, 6—3. The combined doubles went to Peach and Miss AVellwood, who defeated Pike and Mrs. Melody, 6 —5, 6 —3.
