Much interest has been centred during the week in the display of models ’J 1 t ° windows of Messrs. Spear and Murray opticians. in Willis Street. By far ihomosl interesting exhibit is a miniature model of H.M.S. New Zealand, constructed by Mr.L. ?.K. Murray. Built on ilio scale of one-eighth of ? 11 inch to a foot the model is sft. Cm. m length. It is fitted with everything complete, even to the little brass searchlights. the propellers ano driven by electricity,' and when the current is at full streng h hey travel around at a great rate. Jhe httings display skilled workmanship, and Mr Murray staled that he spent a yuir on 'the task. The other models include a beam engine, built by Mr. Pritchard, and a small pumping set made by Mr. C. Bell.
