BUSH FIRES IN VICTORIA
TOWNSHIP THREATENED. (Rec. January 16, 11.26 p.m.) Melbourne, January 16. Bnsh fires at Harcourt, a big hill district, caused damage estimated at many thousands of pounds. At one time they burned along a front of over ten miles, threatening the township of Harcourt. There were many narrow escapes. The fire is now under control except on the Sutton range.—Press Assn.
