GOVERNMENT ATTEMPTS TO STOP IT Paris, January 9. Tho Finance Minister, M. Lasteyre, has submitted a scheme to Cabinet aim ing at countering the fall of the franc. It makes provision for: (I) More rigorous police regulation to suppress the campaign' in favour of tho sale of Government securities; (2) a revised system of quotations on the Bourse; (3) weeding out undesirable and heterogeneous frequenters of the exchange market; (4) stricter of bankers’ exchange operations; (5) an endeavour to check the practice of certain exporters in leaving foreign money abroad.—Router.
