BLACKBURN COMPLETELY OUTCLASSED STONE DISPLAYS REMARKABLE SKILL CLEVEREST BOXER SINCE HOCK KEYS by Telegraph.—Special Correspondent. Napier, December 2. The Napier Boxing Association held a tournament in tlib Municipal Theatre last evening, before a large crowd, whose dimensions had been largely increased bv the activities of the committee working for the election of the boxing oueen in the forthcoming mardi gras. ■The chief attraction was the first anpearance in New Zealand of the famous Australian boxer. Harry Stone, who contested with Clarrie Blackburn (Auckland) for a purse of £125. Tlte bout proved a very one-sided exhibition, though bv no means uninteresting. as the inferiority of his opponent gave Stone an opportunity to show his great skill and remarkable versatility; he made Blackbum look like a novice, and scent tbb best part of the fifteen rounds tanning his opnonent when and where he would, in eluding his adversary's rushes, and incidentally threw in for good measure sonto exceedingly comical “stunts.”
