KAIWAKA TUNNEL DISASTER
BODY OF MISSING MAN LOCATED
FURTHER FALLS OF EARTH HINDER RECOVERY By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, December 2. The body of one of the entombed men in the Kaiwaka tunnel was located at 8 o’clock this morning, but on account of the difficult nature of the work it is not expected that it will be extricated till this evening. It is thought that death was instantaneous in the case of this man. Tho samp opinion is held in regard to the second missing man, who, it is supposed, will be found six or eight feet further in th© tunnel.
Since the first fall of earth s§vera] hundred tens more material have fallen, completely blocking the passage. Workers are engaged continuously day and night in the task of recovering the bodies.
The injured men, Diamond and Young, are making satisfactory progress towards recovery in hospital.
