IMMIGRANTS ARRIVE
RUAHINE BRINGS 200 The liner Ruahine, which arrived at Wellington j-esterday from London and Southampton, brought 214 “assisted” immigrants. They are booked to the following destinations: —
Tho Immigration Department met the new arrival and arranged for them to proceed to their destinations to-day as follow:—By the Napier express at 8.20 a.m. ; New Plymouth express at 9.10 a.m.; by a special train for Auckland at 2 p.m.; by the Nikau for Nelson at 6.30 p.m.; by tho Maori for Lyttelton at 7.45 p.m. . Altogether there were 571 passengers aboard tho Ruahine. Tho voyage was rendered enjoyable by dances every evening, a fancy dress ball, and deck games and sports. The general health of all on board was excellent.
