CLAIMS AGAINST SCHOONER FOREST HOME
PRIORITY QUESTION SETTLED. By Tf.i.bghapii—Press Association. Wanganui, November 30. Tlie Chief Justice this morning, at the Supreme Court, intimated his findings on the main submissions made to him in argument relating to the proceeds of tho sale of tho American schooner Forest Home —viz.. £6OO, being a fund denosited in the Court. The admitted priorities wore Mashal’s costs, the Harbour Board’s claims, senmen’s wages, and plaintiff’s costs. Tho main contest was on the question ns to whether the enptain. whoso claim for wages was £520. had priority over claims for necessaries supplied to the ship on his order. The necessaries cla med were £167 by lovegrove for unloading the shin and £35 bv the Wanganui Meat Freezing Company for provision for the ship. His Honour held that navmont to claimants for necessaries had priority over the captain’s claims for wages. He allowed five guineas costs for each counsel.
