FAREWELL TO HEADMASTER

NORTHLAND RESIDENTS SHOW APPRECIATION. Appreciation of the services of Mr. D M. Polson, headmaster of the Northland School, who has been attached to the institution since its erection 17 years ago, was expressed by s large gathering of residents who assembled at St. Anne’s Hall last night. There were about 150 present, among whom were Sir John Luke, an “ Lady Luke. Mrs. Polson, Mr. O J. Howarth (the new headmaster) and Mrs. Howarth. Mr. C. H- NichoUs (president of the Northland School Committee) presided. In presenting Mr. Polson with, a handsome gold Rotheram watch, suitably engraved, Mr. Nicholls said that Mr Polson, who fortunately was not going further away than Karori, had become the third parent to the children of the district. He had proved equal to the task of training many different dispositions.
