> STARTLING EVIDENCE OF A FORMER JOCKEY. (Rec. November 29, 11.25 p.m.) Sydney, November 29. Givino- evidence at the pony racing inquiry, a former jockey, Oscai Pearce, said that since lie refused to pull a horse in a certain race,, he had been persecuted bv the associated racing club stewards, fina'lv losing his license, which was cancelled. He also described several cases in which horses were doped iust before races. He said be could ret a number of witnesses to substantiate his statements, but they would not come before the committee, as they were afrnid of being victimised bv the stewards. —Press Assn.
