A new and delicate situation has arisen out of the Ruhr occupation owing to the Franco-Belgian agreement with the Ruhr industrialists, under which France and Belgium propose to recouu themselves for the costs of the occupation from the payments under the agreement. The position wafi discussed at a conference of British experts. including Sir John Bradbury. at the Foreign Office. Sir John Bradbury will report the British Government s decision to the Reparations Commission, which, according to Paris newspapers, is confronted with, the problem not merely of recognising the occupation of the Ruhr, as hitherto it has not done, but of endorsing the legality of the payments.—Reuter.
